Autumn is well and truly here with its chillier mornings and early light sunsets finally! As soon as October came round I did indeed jump into my chunky knitwear and cosy jumpers but then all of a sudden, London carried the warmer weather on for a tad longer with the odd rain here and there, which meant it was still early for the knitwear and jumpers and perfect for those light but can keep you warm transitional outfits.

When the weather is forecast to be sunny throughout the day but have a bit of wind here and there, I tend to wear a tee and just throw on a leather or denim jacket on, however I’ve been loving leather jackets more lately. I feel like the whole, basic tee, leather jacket and smart trouser look is so in right now and its the perfect smart casual look. I’ve found my new love for this £3.99 basic H&M tee all thanks to Alix from I Covet Thee. I have this in black and white, and its honestly the perfect fitting basic tee. It’s so hard finding the perfect basic tee for yourself as some are too long, some have really low neck, but this one from H&M is the one!! I wanted mine to be pretty oversized so I got them both in a size M and I honestly love them!

I have paired the white basic tee with these smart paper bag trousers from H&M and honestly I couldn’t love it anymore if I tried!! I’ll leave a link to all the pieces mentioned here if I can find them. Throughout the last year or so I’ve been slowly getting into wearing smart trousers and not gonna lie, I’ve been loving it really. It changes the feel of the whole outfit completely and literally makes me feel like a sophisticated business women, which lets be honest I’m definitely not. These paper bag trousers are the perfect autumn calling smart but comfy trousers ever!! They are “ankle-length trousers in a patterned weave with a high waist with pleats and a detachable tie belt. Zip fly, concealed hook-and-eye fastening, side pockets, fake welt back pockets and tapered legs”. I’m a petite gal so I fold the ankles of these a couple of times so it can suit me better. These trousers would look super cute with some back basic tee as well, or a cream cosy knit jumper in the colder days!

The day I wore this outfit out, I had paired it with a black leather jacket which suited the whole look perfectly, it will also look so good with a black tee and with this beige leather biker jacket I got from H&M. Also there is definitely a running theme here with the vast majority of the clothing bits being from H&M, I just love them all!!

As for the accessories, I had paired this outfit with an old handbag I had from NewLook and my Adidas superstars trainers as I wanted to go for the more casual look but some heeled boots would look fab too! I’ve been so into gold dainty jewellery lately and these layered gold necklace from H&M went perfect over the white basic tee, along with these hoop earrings too!

When it get colder I always tend to stick around to my favourite sweaters that I’ve used all summer because I just don’t want to stop wearing them but of course I always end up freezing like hell.

I really love this look! It’s simple but really chic, and the trousers definitely make it feel more dressed up than it would with regular jeans. Gorgeous!
