I’ve been using many skincare products over the last couple years but never really found products that I throughly enjoyed using hence why didn’t have a proper skincare routine. However over the last 3 months I’ve been sticking to a routine and using the same products over and over again and I can finally say that I have found what products work for me and which ones do not work for me. This is my routine for pretty much everyday and sometimes when my skin is feeling a bit needy I would do a face mask like twice a week. I’m not going to include them in this post as I’m planning on doing a separate blog post on the face masks that I love later on. But for now, lets get onto my current skincare products.
La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel
This is a cleansing gel which eliminates the impurities on the surface of the skin, leaving the skin feeling fresh and clean. I like to use this cleaning gel in the morning as it’s really gentle and light on the skin. In the morning I don’t really like using harsh heavy cleansers as my face tends to go red when I deep cleanse and that is probably the last thing I want first thing in the morning. I use this cleansing gel on dry face and get two pumps in the palm of my hand, rub it in between my hands and massage onto my skin while it’s still dry. The more i massage it into my skin the more it lathers up and when I start washing it with water it foams up and I quiet like that feeling as I feel that it actually cleans my face.
Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Gentle Pads
These glycolic fix gentle pads from Nip and Fab are initially just cotton pads soaked in glycolic acid and I use this product after cleansing my skin to gently exfoliate my skin. I love this product as it’s so practical to use and it leaves my skin brighter with a sheen of glow to it. These pads are soaked in glycolic acid, and glycolic acid is an acid which is known to make the skin glow and more radiant.
Mario Badescu Rosewater Facial Spray
I’ve only used this product for a month and I’m already obsessed with it. This facial spray contains Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater which are all meant to hydrate your skim and soothe it. I use this product after gently exfoliating to hydrate my skin and it leaves it so super soft and with a sheen of glow as well. I know I’m definitely going to purchase the other scents of it as well I know they do a cucumber and aloe vera one and a lavender spray. I’m really impressed with this product and use it during the day and to set my makeup into place as well.
Pixi Glow Tonic
I love love love my Pixi Glow Tonic so much and use it as a toner after exfoliating. This product helps boost radiance within my skin and leaves it super glowy and healthy. I really have seen the difference within my skin after using this product and the Nip and Fab Glycolic pads regularly that the appearance of blemishes have decreased as well as the redness around my nose area. I like to pour tiny bit of this into my hand, rub it in between the palms of my hands and then pat it on my face. I find that when I use it like this it’s more effective on my skin and I end up using less product compared to using it with a cotton round. I deffo know I will repurchase this product when it finishes as I can’t live without it.
La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo (+)
This is a product that I swear by and ever since I brought in the Black Friday sales, I’ve been using it every day. This is in a light cream texture and I like to dot this product onto my trouble areas such as any blemishes I have which are usually around the side of my cheeks and sometimes around my T-zone. I massage this in like it’s a moisturiser and it leaves my skin feeling silky and smooth. This isn’t a product that gets rid of current spots and blemishes but more like prevents them from happening before they’ve even appeared. This product has definitely helped reduce the marks from those stubborn spots. This product is definitely a staple in my skincare routine.
Simple Soothing Eye Balm
After using my Effaclar Duo I like to go in with a eye cream to hydrate under the eyes and prevent eye bags. I’m currently using this eye cream from Simple as this is my open one currently but I’m not too fussy with eye creams, so I am willing to try new ones and test them out which I know I deffo will when this finishes! This is very soothing as apparent in the name and it does what it’s meant to, hydrates and keep them moisturised.
Simple Kind To Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser
It should come as a no surprise that I LOVE Simple products especially their moisturisers, it’s perfect for my skin and easy to use. This was one of the first moisturisers that I started using couple years ago when getting into skincare. I did switch it up couple times to try out new ones but I did go back to this mainly because I received in a gift set over Christmas and my old one ran out. I’m always on the hunt for new and better moisturisers but I know this one will deffo stay as my all time fave!
Glossier Balm Dotcom – Cherry
Only gone and included a Glossier product didn’t I. I am completely obsessed with this product. I have the cherry flavour and it smells so good. I’d describe this lip balm as a sort of thick matte balm. It’s so moisturising and nourishing on the lips and it gives a slight tint too. I’m definitely going to order more flavours soon from Glossier!! You can also my link HERE to get 10% off of your first Glossier purchase!!
Superdrug Cleansing Eye Makeup Remover Pads
In the evening I like to use these eye makeup remover pads to remove any eye makeup I’m wearing like eyeshadow or mascara. These pads are great and so easy to use and a reasonable size that’s enough to take off the eye makeup.
Garnier Micellar Water
I like to take my makeup off with the Garnier Micellar Water as it’s a super easy product and removes all makeup easily. I don’t wear makeup everyday so I won’t follow these first 2 steps on a daily basis. Micellar Water had definitely got to be my favourite makeup remover as it’s so simple to use and contains no perfume so it’s great for sensitive skin as well.
L’Oréal Pure Clay Glow Scrub
This product from L’Oréal is my evening cleanser and it’s their Pure Clay Glow Scrub which has Red Algae in it which is known for its brightening properties. I like to use this in the evening as it’s a more heavy cleanser and I scrub my face with this and then wash it off and I find that using it in the evening is better for my skin. This is because it deeply cleanses my skin and gets rid of any impurities and leftover makeup. This product cleanses, brightens and exfoliates which is great after a day of makeup on the skin. I deffo seen a difference in my skin when it’s been used regularly, it reduced the appearance of blemishes and red marks from dried spots. Mine is nearly finished and I know I will purchase another one again or a different one from the same range.
The rest of my evening skincare routine is pretty much the same as my morning, I just exfoliate, use my Effaclar Duo + and then moisturise. I love this mix of products as I’m including acids as well as herbs and aloe into my routine which I find that has helped clear up my skin a lot.
Hope you enjoyed reading this blog post and comment down below if you have tried any of these products before and how you got on with them.
