The January Edit

As the first month of the year is over, it’s time to compile my The January Edit blog post. This is where I share the things I did, read and watched. I’m aiming to do a monthly edit blog post every month as it’s a nice way to track everything!

What I did:

Starting The January Edit with what I got up-to! January was a fairly busy month, consisting of uni work, starting my work experience placement and getting into a blogging routine. However, it definitely was a great and rewarding month, as my hard work paid off in many ways. Last month I decided to stick to a blogging schedule which seemed to work. I post on my blog twice a week on Tuesday’s and Saturday’s. However, I have missed two uploads of January but nevertheless I’m happy with the amount of content I have posted. I have also managed to send my first ever pitch email to a brand, which turned out to be a success!

During January, I have also managed to spruce up my bedroom interiors and change some of the decor! I tend to always get a bit itchy with my decor at this time of the year, and I love playing around with changing it up! I’ve yet to share the finished result on my Instagram, but will do later this month, as I’m working with a brand on it! You can follow me on Instagram by following THIS LINK! I’ve also started working in a primary school as part of my Dissertation research. I’m loving it so far, however finding the balance between blogging, uni and work is somewhat difficult!

What I read and watched:

Books I’ve read:

Calypso – David Sedaris

The Handmaids Tale – Margaret Atwood

Just Kids – Patti Smith

This is Going To Hurt – Adam Kay

Instead of going into detail with each book, I’ll leave a link to the blog post I’ve wrote talking about all of them in detail, which you can read HERE!

What I’ve watched:

In January I’ve definitely watched a lot more Youtube than Netflix, as I switch between both! However I will talk through some of the things I’ve watched during December too!

Money Heist – I’s started watching this in December and loved it! I’m nearly finished with S3 and I can’t wait for the new season to drop in April! It’s about a group of people keeping people from the public in hostage in the Royal Mint in Spain, whilst they produce copies of money. This is all directed by the leader of their group; the Professor! It’s such an interesting show and well worth a watch if you are into thrillers and suspense!

YOU S2 – I’m pretty sure a lot of you have heard of YOU! I watched the second season, but definitely didn’t enjoy it as much as S1, as there wasn’t a lot of suspense and it felt like it was a bit slow! However, the last minute of the last episode was well exciting, which makes me want to watch S3 to find out!

The Gift – This is possibly one of the best Netflix shows I’ve watched! It covers topics surrounding identity, self expression, symbolism, spiritual life. It’s an original Turkish Netflix show about a young lady who is an artist painting different versions of a symbol that looks like an infinity sign. This symbol is then discovered in the archaeological searches of an historical site in Turkey from over 100 years ago! The young lady sets out to find her relationship to this symbol and that historical site through her identity, family and spiritual beliefs! It’s such an interesting watch!

This is all I’ve gotten up to in January, I hope you enjoyed reading the blog post and comment down below some good things that have happened to you in January!

Congrats on getting your first brand collab! That’s so exciting! I really want to watch money heist, I’ve heard great things about it. I’m surprised you didn’t like Season 2 of You, I actually think I weirdly enjoyed it more? Hope you February is just as good or better than your january xxx
