Winter layering

girl with a grey jumper on with a white shirt underneath wearing gold rings

We are well and truly still winter, so I thought it’d be appropriate to dedicate a post to winter layering! Winter is my least favourite season, as its just cold, wet and grey! When it comes to my outfits, I choose comfort and warmth over anything, which is where winter layering comes in. I prefer layering shirts and tees under jumpers for that extra warmth of layer! In this blog post I’ll share one of my favourite winter outfits that I have worn the past month.

I love the look of layering a thick oversized jumper with a shirt, preferably a linen shirt. This white linen shirt was a staple for me during summer and I’m trying to get more wear out of it by using it as a layering piece. I’ve layered it up with a grey slightly cropped jumper which has an oversized fit. I wore some black skinny jeans here as the skinny look at the bottom balances out the oversized fit on top.

I’ve paired this outfit with my off grey puffer coat, which I adore, it’s so comfy! I love the length of this coat as well, as its not crop but isn’t long either, the perfect length for petite people like me.

As this outfit has a neutral colour palette, I wanted to add a bit of colour with my bag. I’m wearing a dark green shoulder bag that has a faux crocodile leather. This bag is the perfect size, as it fits pretty much everything I need on a daily, like my film camera, portable and a water bottle!

Last but not least is my accessories, I love sprucing up my outfits with some jewellery. I have my simple band rings on, with my gold hexagon ring from Daisy Jewellery. I’m also wearing my gold coin ring from Missoma which I love for the detail it has engraved on it!

Hope you enjoyed this blog post, comment down below your winter outfit essentials!

I’m such a huge fan of layering because it creates dimension in an outfit. I can appreciate some dainty jewelry to make an outfit pop. Great styling on the two grey tones, so pretty for winter.

  2. Ahh I’m not a fan of winter! I normally don’t like layering. I’m from an island so shorts and a cute tee are more up my alley. However, since I’ve moved to the states, layering is pretty much a must-do with the cold climate! I normally utilize jackets as a layering piece. I think a long coat would be a staple in a gal’s winter wardrobe 😆. Love how you styled your looks here, the puffer coat is super cute and I like how it’s a neutral color.
